The world stops when a parent learns that their child has a serious or possibly life threatening condition. Parents are willing to travel far away from home, family and friends to receive the best medical care. Thousands of these families find their way to Philadelphia to receive pediatric treatment and staying at a hotel can be cost prohibitive and isolating.

The 14^th Annual 76ers Read for Ronald Awards for Excellence Reception will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 6pm to 8pm.  This special evening honors elementary and middle school children from 25 local schools who have raised money for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House through reading.  Ronald McDonald, Hip Hop the 76ers mascot, and a star player for the 76ers basketball team will be in attendance to celebrate with our students.
