Volunteer Time at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House

Visit with our families, drive the van, lend a hand in the office, write thank you notes, volunteer for an upcoming event, and so much more.

Become a Guest Chef

Join our Guest Chef program and prepare and serve dinner for the 44 families staying at the Chestnut Street House and 15 families staying at the Front and Erie House. Almost every night, a different volunteer group purchases, prepares, and serves a home-cooked meal. Our Guest Chef program is consistently rated as one of the top services that we provide for our families. It's also very popular with our volunteers because they get to directly meet the families that they are helping!

Adopt-a-Family

Those who want to support the House but are strapped for time can Adopt-a-Family by sending in a donation that underwrites the family's stay at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House for a specific time period. We ask our families to pay a guest fee of $15/night however, if they cannot afford this fee, we discount or waive the fee. It costs us close to $75/night to provide our services for our families, so the Adopt-a-Family program is based on covering the total cost at $60/night, for any length of stay. Consider three nights at $180. Or, five nights at $300.

Create a Fundraising Event - Or Attend One of Ours!

Consider sponsoring a fundraising event that would benefit the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. A golf outing. A dress down day at work. A fashion show. A walk or run. Double a Personal Contribution Through an Employer Matching Gift Program

Check with your employer to designate PRMH in your employee matching gift program or payroll deduction plan.

Donate Items through a Wish List Drive

The House uses the same supplies that you need in your own homes, just in larger quantities. Check here to see what items we need at different times of the year.

Schedule a Community Service Day for your Employees

Consider bringing a team of employees to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House to do spring cleaning, or tackle a painting project. You could also create a new program for the families and/or children that focuses on the talents of your employees, i.e., if your employees have musical talent, you could entertain the families with a musical performance.

Read for Ronald

Want to have your children or students read for a good cause? Encourage your school to join the 76ers Read for Ronald Program! Promote community service in your children or students while raising money for our families.

Donate Company Products

Your company might produce a product or service that could serve our families, or help offset a portion of our operating expenses. Many of the products or services that you need in your office or home could also be donated to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, i.e., paper goods, office supplies, snacks, cereal, paint and hardware products, maintenance services, etc. Think about what your company does - and see if there's a possible fit.

Recycle for Ronald

We accept used printer cartridges and convert them into money. You can drop off the cartridges or we can schedule a pick-up through Ribbons Express.

"Pull for the House"

Collect aluminum pop tabs from soda cans, soup cans, etc. We process the collected aluminum tabs and turn these pop tabs into cash for the House. Since we began this program at our House, we have raised over $109,319.51.

Collect Acme Receipts

PRMH receives 1 percent of sales from all Acme receipts donated. They can be mailed to: The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 to the attention of Caroline Coleman.
